The survival of civilization lies never in grand narratives, but in people’s inward soul-searching amid self-reflection. Amid a world drowned in hustle, bustle and cutthroat competition, these five plain questions stand as a beacon, marking the ultimate coordinates of human existence.

I. Why Pursue Education? To cultivate wisdom, mature as a person and uphold virtue throughout life

Education ought not to be mere drill work for problem-solving skills, but a crucible for character building. The true essence of learning consists in grasping natural laws and the rise and fall of history to gain insight into universal truths; distinguishing right from wrong to forge an inner moral compass; inheriting wisdom passed down by ancient sages; and nurturing independent thinking to retain one’s individuality amid surging information.

When children understand that schooling serves to shape whole human beings instead of disposable functional parts, the malformation of education can be remedied. Learning is never for vain comparison or utilitarian gains, but to live with clarity, integrity, purpose and inner strength.

II. What Is the Meaning of Life? To preserve inner integrity and bring warmth to the world

We should treat money as a tool instead of a life goal; earn income by generating real social value rather than profiting at others’ expense; never sacrifice morality for profit; and practice philanthropy to aid vulnerable groups with wealth. True success is reflected not by figures in bank accounts, but by how many lives one has improved.

V. Why Seek Fame? To live up to public expectations and guide society toward goodness

Fame is a double-edged sword: it can amplify kindness or magnify vice. Greater renown comes with heavier accountability.

Public figures ought to match their influence with tangible accomplishments; steer social trends toward positivity; regard fame as a public trust worthy of careful preservation; and uphold justice and conscience under the spotlight. Celebrity status is never for vanity, but for shouldering social obligations.

VI. Inheriting Civilizational Genes: Chain Reaction from Individuals to Civilization

Such civilizational genes cannot be imposed by force, but passed down imperceptibly from generation to generation.

The family serves as the first classroom, with parents’ words and deeds forming children’s earliest ethical textbook; schools act as the core frontline, where teachers impart not only knowledge but also the principles of being a decent human being; society forms the broader environment—when integrity is respected and moral bottom lines observed, civilizational genes will thrive naturally.

These values are no empty slogans or rigid clauses, but ingrained instincts: knowing what actions to take and which to shun, remembering one’s original aspiration and the reasons to persevere.

VII. Resonance with the Human Creation Convention

Setting ethical boundaries for machines and building spiritual defenses for humankind are two sides of the same mission.

The Human Creation Convention stipulates that robots shall not harm humans. Yet a deeper layer of protection lies in humanity refraining from harming one another, losing ourselves or crossing moral red lines. The more advanced science and technology grow, the purer human hearts must stay; the sharper human-made tools become, the cleaner human nature ought to remain.
